Der amerikanische Filmproduzent und Gründer von Miramax Films, Harvey Weinstein, wird der
sexuellen Belästigung, sexuellem Missbrauch, gewalttätigem und misogynistischem Verhalten
sowie Vergewaltigung beschuldigt. Die Gesellschaft fragt sich, wie solche Vorwürfe, die bis in die
1970er Jahre zurückreichen, unentdeckt bleiben konnten.
Feminismus wird immer noch tabuisiert, das gesamte Netz, das von Hypersexualisierung über
Gewalt gegen Frauen über Belästigung bis hin zu Vergewaltigung reicht, wird nicht ausreichend
aufgebrochen oder angesprochen. Es herrscht immer noch Stille.
#dearharvey bricht diese Stille. Inspiriert von #metoo, den Vorläufern und Wirkung der Debatte,
richten wir uns in einem Brief an Harvey Weinstein nicht nur an ihn, sondern an die gesamte
Gesellschaft, die dazu beiträgt, dass die Stille nicht gebrochen wird. Wir reflektieren die Zeiten, in
denen wir leben.

Harvey Weinstein, movie producer and founder of Miramax Films, is accused of sexual harassment,
sexual assault, bullying, abusive, misogynistic behaviour and rape. Society asks itself how the
allegations, which go back as far as to the 1970s, could escape the public eye so long.
Violence against women, the hypersexualisation of the female body, sexual harassment and rape,
are still very much alive and thriving. There is still silence.
#dearharvey cuts through the silence. Inspired by #metoo, its' predecessors, and the continuation of
the debate, we have written a letter to Harvey Weinstein that adresses not only him, but the entire
society that helps keeping the silence. We choose to reflect the times we live in.
